Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao): Rich in natural antioxidants such as polyphenol and flavonoid antioxidants and fatty acids such as Stearic, Palmitic, and Oleic acids. Cocoa Butter acts as a barrier to protect the skin against environmental damage.
Shea Butter (Vitellaria paradoxa): The Shea tree (Tree of Life) known to be a “skin superfood” that nourishes skin to fight against dryness, blemishes, dark spots, discolourations, stretch marks, and wrinkles without clogging pores. Used medicinally, Shea Butter prevents skin-irritating and acne-causing bacteria from lingering on the skin, relieves nasal congestion, and creates a barrier on skin that protects it from harsh environmental elements, while facilitating wound healing. The main chemical constituents of Shea Butter are: Oleic Acid, Stearic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Cinnamic Acid Esters, Allantoin, and Polyphenols (Tocopherol/Vitamin E).
Camillia Seed Oil (Camellia oleifera): A wild flower that contains antioxidants and helps to give a revitalized and rejuvenated look to the skin and hair. Camellia Oil helps improve the tone and texture of skin and reduces the appearance of aging and hydrates the complexion.
Chamomile oil (Tanacetum anuum): or “Tansy Blue” and is considered to be a true chamomile. This oil contains chamazulene. One of the most ancient medicinal herbs, chamomile has historically enjoyed the reputation of being a cure-all. It is widely considered to be cleansing and to facilitate feelings of relaxation, which has made it a popular ingredient in aromatherapy. Chamomile essential oil is ideal for sensitive skin.
The ancient Egyptians dedicated chamomile to their gods because of all its healing properties, particularly when used for the treatment of acute fever, known at the time as Ague. It was believed to be a gift from Ra, the Sun God.
Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia): Contains a plethora of gentle healing properties. It’s anti-septic, analgesic, anti-convulsant, anti-depressant, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, bactericidal, a decongestant, relieving and soothing.
Thyme Oil (Thymus zygis): A natural antiseptic, thyme oil exudes an intensely fresh, spicy, herbaceous scent. It has antimicrobial properties, it’s anti-fungal and antibacterial, analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Thyme oil is used to boost the recovery of minor cuts, scrapes, sunburn, and skin infections, in addition to supporting the management of minor cases of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.
